Hello, everyone! How is everyone doing? It’s Mishi here to talk about a unique fashion, this fashion is called Harajuku fashion. But before we talk about fashion let me give you a little history on Harajuku. Harajuku is about 4 blocks from Shibuya, however even though it is just a few blocks away the fashion is very different. Harajuku is the fashion district that made Japanese fashion popular. Gwen Stefani had backup dancers that wore Harajuku fashion and were called Harajuku Girls. They are no longer with Stefani and for good reason’s shame on Stefani for using a culture to try and make herself popular. If she had talent in the first place she wouldn’t have had to use a race to make them look better and that goes for any music artist. She owes the Japanese people, Maya Chino, Jennifer Kita, Rino Nakasone-Razalan, and Mayuko Kitayama an apology. However, that is my rant and my personal opinion on the situation. Okay now on to Harajuku and it’s fashion.
Harajuku is the how of Tomogatchi, Maid Cafe’s, and unique fashion trends. Harajuku is not just about unique fashion, it is one of the fashion centers of the world. Omotesando is the high fashion street that contains stores like Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel. Harajuku’s other main street is Takeshita which is a gathering place on Sunday’s for the different fashion trends if you are lucky enough to be able to go on Sunday’s you would see many different fashion styles. These fashion trends would include: Cosplay, Visual Kei, Punk, Yamanba/Manba, Lolita, Gyaru, Ganguro which is few because it isn’t popular anymore, and Rock-A-Billy. If you go there on Sundays you will see them performing.
want to talk to you about one of the fashions that were made popular by a Japanese Idol for Harajuku people, her name is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Her fashion is worn by girls in their teens to twenties and is called Kawaii Fashion. This fashion is unique and has no rules. It is not about being cute for a guy, it is about you and what your style of cute is. It is about being true to yourself and your fashion. The style consists of bright to pastel colors of hair and bright to pastel colors of clothing, bows, and ruffles. It is unique and childish fashion and they are truly kawaii. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu was also an Image Model for the new Japanese Nintendo 3DS and appeared in many of the commercials for Nintendo 3DS.
Another Harajuku fashion I would like to talk about is Visual Kei fashion. This is another fashion that I love. I used to be Visual Kei and it was great. Visual Kei is a fashion that is a very unique but very fascinating fashion. Visual Kei was created by a JRock group called X Japan(๑癶ω癶๑). Visual Kei doesn’t set any boundaries, it’s about rocking out to your favorite JRock band and looking hot doing it. Many of the JRock musicians are creating clothing lines from their stage costumes. Visual Kei is a kind of art, express yourself in any way that looks good to you, it can be as over-the-top or as subtle as you want it to be. It doesn’t have to be flamboyant to be Visual Kei. Remember that it is art and there are nor rules in art. That is it for this post. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you had a good time reading this post. See you next time.
